A weekend at Songshan: two days of design shopping and an exhibition through November 15

Visitors planning a half day at Taipei’s Songshan Cultural and Creative Park on November 7 or 8 can combine two stops. STAR ON THE MOVE 2026 opens to the public from 11am to 8pm on both days at the North Tobacco Factory. Admission is free. November 6 was an invitation-only day for professional buyers.

The Songyanland Festival’s themed exhibition in Warehouse 2 runs from November 6 through 15. It looks at how the former tobacco factory has changed and what remains visible in the spaces people use today. Start with the market if shopping is your priority. The exhibition has a longer run, so you can also visit it on a separate day.

The market brings together design goods, crafts and local food products. If you’re looking for a gift, ask about materials, care and whether the item will be available after the event. For purchases you plan to use yourself, think about where the item will fit and how often you’ll use it. The event also serves as a meeting point for brands and buyers, giving visitors a chance to speak with the people behind the products.

If you go with friends, pick a few stalls you each want to see and agree on a place to meet. Free admission covers the market itself. Products are sold separately, and other activities around the park have their own admission arrangements. Check a brand’s latest information if you’re going for a particular product.

The festival’s indoor exhibition includes AURA, an interactive light corridor by hellobastworkshop, a video installation by Duan Mu and a site-specific work by Kang Ya-chu that uses an earthen carpet. Pick a work and pay attention to what changes as you approach it. The warehouse’s scale can shape how you see the installation, and in an interactive corridor, the light can change as you move.

Outdoor works extend the visit beyond the warehouse. One installation is located at the small roundabout in front of the administration building. The indoor and outdoor stops offer different ways to see the former industrial site. Short talks, workshops and guided walks have individual schedules and registration arrangements, so check the session you want to attend.

Plan the route around the shorter market window

On November 7 and 8, you can start at the market, continue to Warehouse 2 and leave the outdoor works for the end if the weather and your schedule allow. If the installations are your main reason for going, start at the warehouse and leave enough time to reach the market before 8pm. You can also return for the themed exhibition after the market ends.

The park is at No. 133, Guangfu South Road, Xinyi District, Taipei. Use the venue names to find the two stops once you arrive. The organiser’s release says the Warehouse 2 exhibition runs until 8pm. Check the park’s notices for the opening time and admission arrangements for that exhibition and any sessions you want to attend.
